Bandung Pop Culture Tour 2010 - Join PopMalaya on a creative journey! (updated)


Here is some good news for all creative Malaysians. Local clothing label pioneer, PopMalaya together with CEN (Bandung Creative Entrepreneur Network) is organizing a four day three night creative tour known as the Bandung Pop Culture Tour 2010 this coming June.

The creative tour is organized solely for Malaysians who are passionate towards the creative industry and wish to deepen their knowledge about the creative industry and build networking in our neighbouring countries, particularly Bandung also known as one of Asia's leading creative city that actively managed by independent communities.

Participants will be given a grand tour around the creative city of Bandung where their visits will also include:

- Braga (old part of Bandung).
- Design Department of ITB (oldest Engineering University in Indonesia, built by the Dutch colonial
government in 1920).
- Meet music and underground communities at Common Room.
- Foot Wear Industry.
- Rumah Botol = Bottle House (the private residence of Ridwan Kamil - the head of Bandung
Creative City Forum, is also a winner of International Young Creative Entrepreneur Award 2006,
who designed his own house, which includes used RedBull bottles as its outer wall ).
- Distro shopping tour (local clothing labels own boutique).

Tour fee: RM1800 (all inclusive = air ticket+lodging+meals+transportation)

About Creative Entrepreneur Network (CEN)
Creative Entrepreneur Network (CEN) is a business network program created by Bandung Creative City Forum (BCCF), which acts as a hub that can serve as a networking center for creative enterprises in Bandung and other cities in Indonesia, and in their relations to regional and international partners. CEN was launched in May 16th, 2009 in Bandung, and has ever since been conducting its programs. Members of CEN are composed of various elements, such as students/academics, start-up entrepreneurs, corporations small- and medium-size enterprises and communities.

The bus will take the participants to the old part of the city.

Walking along Braga Street to view Asia-Africa Museum and other colonial buildings to get the typical atmosphere/characteristics of Bandung.
Accompanied/guided by personnel from Bandung Heritage or Bandung Trail.

ITB is a typical Dutch-Indies campus building, among the first buildings designed by a Dutch-Indies architect.

Faculty of Arts & Design (FSRD) ITB
Options are visiting Soemardja Gallery, the one and only campus-gallery in Indonesia, and the textile and fashion department of FSRD ITB.
